I've been working on this lightsaber off and on for several months now. Not only has it been driving me nuts, but my Canadian buddy has been driving me nuts, too! (lol) I managed to temporarily reacquire my shop and finally finished this lightsaber. It's about four months in the making. Let me tell you, working in the back yard does not work. o.O
I think I did a pretty good job on this one. It's not perfect, and I had to modify some things, of course, but it came out great. My buddy in Canada wanted me to integrate a mock crystal ch amber into the saber somehow. I worked it in under the control band. The pommel can be detached by removing the two screws securing it, allowing access to the crystal chamber. I didn't have a stone or crystal small enough to fit into the chamber, but I placed the stones around it for looks in the bottom pic, to get the idea across. A small stone, about the size of a marble, could be fitted into the crystal chamber for some extra pazazz.
I'm particularly fond of the pommel on this saber. I think it turned out better than the pommel on the Obi-Wan ROTS. And the paint job worked out. This is my first time doing two-tone silver and black back to back, and frankly I was worried about the silver running (I hate doing two-tone paint jobs). But a little patience pays off. Overall, the paint came out perfect.
